Although December in Utah was one of the driest on record, Snow & Ski Conditions at Sundance continues to amaze.  We were blessed in December with very cold temperatures which allowed us to produce a high volume of man-made snow. 

Not all man-made snow is created equal.  Sundance Resort allows our snow to "cure" before moving or working it.  Curing allows time for the moisture in the snow to dissipate, leaving the finished product much drier for a more natural skiing snow.

Ladies Day Ski & Snowboard Clinics
Ladies Day Specialty Clinics offer ladies from beginner to advanced skill levels the opportunity to learn to ski or snowboard, or simply improve their skills at one of the most scenic mountains on the Wasatch Front. Also offered as an add-on is our Children's Clinic.  Children will learn to ski or snowboard while Mom is out enjoying her lesson. To participate, children must be 6-12 years old for ski lessons, and 7-12 years old for snowboard lessons.  Includes four 2 1/2 hour lessons and full day lift tickets.

Snowsports Merit Badge Clinic
Scouts can earn their Snowsports Merit Badge at Sundance Resort in just two short downhill sessions!  Choose to earn your merit badge on skis or a snowboard.

Ladies Day Saturday Program
The Sundance Resort Nordic Center offers a Ladies Day Saturday Program each week where you can try cross country skiing for the first time or build your existing skills.  This is a great way to have fun, learn a new skill, make friends and stay in shape! 

Ladies Day Intro to Nordic Program
Learn to Cross Country Ski in a 4 session clinic in January or February. Come experience a great way to stay in shape during the winter months with a group of friends, or make new ones. 

Ladies Day Telemark Clinics
Similar to the Ladies Day Ski & Snowboard Clinics, but for those that prefer to hit the slopes on a pair of Telemark skis.

Park City's 2012 Sundance Film Festival Delivers Cutting Edge Cinema in an Intimate Setting

It's time to get ready for the 2012 Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah to be held January 19th through January 29th, 2012.  Much of the Film Festival takes place in Park City, but due to the increasing popularity of the Sundance Film Festival and the number of people wanting to attend screenings, there are now several great places to see a Festival screening outside of Park City including Salt Lake City, Ogden, and of course Sundance Resort.  Attending a screening at Sundance Resort allows guests an opportunity to enjoy part of their festival experience in a more intimate environment away from the hustle and bustle, as well as the unique chance to see a Sundance film in Robert Redford's own Screening Room amidst the place where all things Sundance began.  Ticket and film schedule are set to be announced by the Sundance Institute at the end of December 2011.

Sundance Cinemas  just successfully opened their third location in Houston, TX at the end of November 2011.  Theater goers in Houston will be able to watch a movie in this newly renovated theater and enjoy a cocktail, beer or wine and have a quick, delicious snack all in Sundance style.

Sundance Institute - Next year marks a first in Sundance Film Festival history as Sundance heads across the pond to London. In addition to the American independent cinema screenings, live performances and panels are planned for the occasion.  The full program will be announced after the completion of the Sundance Film Festival in Utah in January of 2012.

The Sundance Catalog which was originally inspired by the Sundance Resort General Store continues to flourish with a new catalogs being released seasonally. New for this  holiday season is their ‘Bob Boot.’  As naturally rugged as the man himself, these hand-cobbled leather boots with Robert Redford’s signature stamp on the sole are real life replicas of the cowboy classics worn by the Electric Horseman in the original big-screen production.  

Sundance Channel continues to showcase both today’s creative icons as well as the emerging talent of tomorrow.  Recently, the channel debuted a social media first by premiering the first episode of season two of their original series “Girls Who Like Boys Who Like Boys” on Twitter.  The channel is also busy preparing for the 2012 Sundance Film Festival during which they will broadcast interviews, news and the latest developments from the Festival.
