Sundance Single Speed Challenge - Utah's ONLY Single Speed Race coming this Sept 11 at Sundance Resort

On September 11th, 2010, Sundance Resort will hold its 7th Annual Single Speed Challenge. As a race that draws in many who feel a connection to the roots of Mountain Biking, this race is designed for the cycling purest at heart; the one who loves to challenge themselves by going back to the roots of cycling and riding only one gear and typically fully rigid. 

Come join this incredible event at Sundance Resort. This event boasts a cash payout based on the number of entrants. Details are as follows:

Race Categories: Male and Female (just keeping it simple)

Start Time: 9am

Entry Fee: $25 dollars (70% of the entry fee is put into the cash purse)

Registration: Will be done by phone at 801-223-4121 or at the Sundance Mountain Outfitter’s shop.

The race will be roughly 1.5 ‐2 hours long and sport some good climbing over the whole race. Recommendation: gearing around a 32:18 or 34:19/20 (if you’re feeling strong)

Awards:
Cash Purse for the top finishers. Awards will be mailed out to each participant the following week. Make sure the mailing address and phone number are current on your registration so you receive your award!

Parking:
Racers may park in either the first or second parking lots.

Rules:

  • Helmets are required while riding at Sundance
  • Uphill riders have the right of way
  • Cyclist should yield to other trail users

Sundance Resort offers 25+ miles of lift serviced single track mountain biking, with challenging terrain and breathtaking vistas. All Sundance trails are designed for uphill and downhill riding, and have excellent intermediate and advance trail riding.   Challenge the mountain by riding the 1200 vertical feet from Ray’s Base up to Ray’s Summit.
